Figuring out how to pay for alcohol treatment can be quite stressful. Individuals may have no idea how they will come up with the money. However, there is no need to worry. Below, are several options that can be used to fund ones alcohol rehabilitation.
Current income: If you or a loved one has a high paying job that makes it possible to afford alcohol treatment without taking on new debt, this will likely be the best option. Some treatment facilities are free or the fee is reduced based on ones income. Therefore, a person doesn’t have to necessarily be rich for this to be an option. Of course, private, upscale treatment centers will be more costly.
Savings: A person may use their savings to pay for alcohol treatment. This may be a good option for persons worried about going into debt in order to pay for alcohol treatment.
Enter into a payment plan: Some facilities will allow you to pay them monthly. Look into this and see if it is an option. This is often much more affordable then paying one lump sum.
Borrow money from family and friends: If a person finds that they are unable to come up with the money on their own, borrowing it from a family member or friend is an option. It is important that the individual is committed to paying it back or it may cause problems in the relationship.
Credit cards: Credit cards may be the best option for individuals who do not have money on hand, do not want to ask family members and friends or who do not (or can not) want to take out a loan.
Bank loan: Individuals who have good credit and who can afford a bank loan may want to use this method. They will likely be able to get a better rate then they would if they used a credit card. They also don’t have to worry about strained relationships that may develop if they are unable to pay back what they owe or if they relapse after a family member of friend has paid for their rehabilitation.
